The project undertaken was a public and street art project which linked the growing regional communities of Littlehampton and Mount Barker. There were several objectives in this project which included the re-invigoration of a neglected space, engaging the public and enabling them to see the value and contribution of street art in regional areas, and ultimately inviting the public to participate in its development as a method of bringing contemporary street art to those who may otherwise never be exposed to it.
At 75 metres in length, making up a canvas approximately 600 square metres in size, this is one of the largest street art projects to be undertaken in South Australia by a single artist. Members of the public were invited to contribute colourful paste up art to the tunnel walls. Over 100 participants from the Adelaide Hills and metropolitan area took part. This project was funded by the Arts South Australia 'Arts Pitch' Program. |
